Practice non-standard problem-solving!

NEW for SPRING! Noetic Preparation Workshops

These ongoing workshops are a great drop-in fun place to explore non-standard problems solving and to help prepare students for the Noetic Competition. Compared to Kangaroo, Noetic questions are easier, but do not have a multiple choice answer. Therefore the emphasis for Noetic is on accuracy.

We have some flexibility in opening a new group, or changing the current time/group, if none of the above work for you.

      Please reach out to facilitate!
No-Show and Make-up policy: Students can makeup classes in another time slot as needed. Please give us 48hr notice to schedule a make-up. Makeups may affect class sizes to be above 6 at some times. We are unable to provide refunds for missed classes without prior arrangement.

Low Enrollment: We require at least two students to be registered to hold a class. Time slots may be closed due to low enrollment and are not guaranteed to exist the entire session. You will be contacted and offered an alternate time slot or conversion to a private lesson if your slot is being closed.

Schedule Changes: We know that plans change. Our schedule is designed to be flexible with plenty of make-up options any given week! Please sign up now but reach out to us at any time if you need to reschedule.

How long are the workshops? What is the fee? Are there discounts?
Each workshop is 1.5 hr long. The fee is $30 per class. A $20 discount is applied to the 5th workshop registration for each student, and the 10th workshop is free.
Are workshops In Person or Online?
Workshops are online. Zoom links are sent several days before the workshop date.
How many students are in a class?
We teach in small groups- we aim for 6 students per class for the workshops. Make-up classes may alter that number occasionally.
I see many time slots available. Can I sign up for more than one class?
There are many time slots available for each class type to give parents the flexibility of choosing a schedule that works for their family. Each class, however, is only taught once a week, repeating on different days/times. If you register for two workshops in the same week, your student will be repeating the same material. Please register up or down a level if you want an extra challenge and a twice per week option.
What happens if we miss a class?
If you know you will miss a class, please give us 48hr notice to schedule a make-up. You can make-up in any of the other available time slots, but the advance notice helps our teachers prepare. Each lesson is a standalone class.
How do we pay? Do families pay monthly, weekly, or per drop-in session?
Families pay per workshop. Once you add all the workshops and accept the charges, please pay at check out. You can pay by selecting the Billing And Payments Tab in the portal. You will see your balance and a “pay now” option.
      blank
If, for any reason, fees are not paid at the time of registration, a bill will be sent to you at the end of the MK session in March. Please make sure to add a valid CC to your account and it will be charged automatically, after you have had a chance to review the statement.
None of the times work for me, but I really want to join your school. What can I do?
Talk to us! We open new groups all the time. 4 kids is the minimum for starting a new group. Invite your friends!
We registered for a certain grade level, but after a few lessons the class seems to hard/too easy for my child
Talk to us! It is easy to switch groups. We have students taking classes above and below their grade levels all the time. The workshops are divided by grade level to mimic the level of the Math Kangaroo exam. Since many problem types overlap, many of our advanced students take workshops above their grade level.
What supplies does my student need for class?
Your student will need a computer with a good internet connection, paper and pencils.
